Background
The CDC Office of Workforce and Career Development (OWCD) in partnership with the Center for Health and Social Sciences at The University of Chicago, seek to broaden its access to leading scientists examining the economic factors affecting the adequacy of the public health workforce to best ensure that this workforce is adequate to meet public health needs, including health promotion and preparedness.
Purpose
The purpose of this conference is to bring together experts in workforce studies from other health professions and other governmental agencies to develop strategies to advance studies of the public health workforce. will focus on the illustration of cutting edge methods by experts in workforce policy for health professions with the potential to be applied to questions important for the public health workforce. Experts will be asked to provide written summaries of the state of the art of workforce research and policy analysis in their respective fields and the applicability to public health. Experts on workforce research and policy analysis for public health will also be included.
