The Program in Global Health seeks to bring together a diverse group of scholars at the University of Chicago to exchange ideas and perform research in global health. The Program takes a collaborative, multi-disciplinary approach to the social, cultural, economic, and environmental determinants of global health. This Program provides a forum for members of the University community to discuss, plan, and implement programs at various sites in developing countries. These programs will help faculty, students, and other trainees to participate in field work and conduct research in a variety of fields related to global health. The Program hopes to partner with host institutions in select countries to advance research and educational endeavors. The Program in Global Health also hosts monthly workshops, in which members present their ongoing research, and local and international experts discuss current issues in global health. We are an emerging program, in the initial stages of development, and look forward to suggestions and collaboration from across the University community.
