Quality in Progress (QuIP) Seminar Series

This series, jointly hosted by the Center for Quality and the Center for Health and the Social Sciences (CHeSS), has been designed with several purposes.  First, we hope to build a community of people interested in this area from the University and the Hospital.  We also plan to raise the profile of health care quality around the institution.  This series will also provide an opportunity for those working on quality related projects to present them in the seminar for feedback and advice.  Finally, we hope to provide opportunities for each of us to advance our skills and comfort within this area.

The seminar series will have two components.  First, we hope to bring in recognized leaders from the field to speak to our institution.  These speaker events will be open to the members of the institution and will be aimed at raising the profile of health care quality, specific educational needs for the members of the core seminar, and provide opportunities for the core seminar participants to network with leaders.

The second component will be aimed primarily for the core seminar participants.  These will be our QuIP (Quality in Progress) sessions.  For these, we expect that our core participants will present some aspect of their ongoing quality work for feedback and advice.  During these sessions, we will try to focus the discussion to provide the necessary feedback to move the project forward.  When possible, we will also try to provide some associated educational information around an issue in quality improvement science that relates to the project being presented.

QuIP will occur on the third Monday of each month at noon.  Attendees are welcome to bring their lunch.  Individuals interested in presenting work should contact Vineet Arora at varora@medicine.bsd.uchicago.edu.

There are no seminars scheduled at this time. Please check back for updates.
