Outcomes Research Workshop

The Outcomes Research Workshop (ORW) is focused on clinical outcomes, health services and comparative effectiveness research, patient-centered outcomes research, and medical education, with an emphasis on the application or use of social science research methods. The workshop is highly interactive and provides opportunities for trainees, fellows, and faculty to present early-stage research ideas or preliminary results, to practice conference talks, or to use the time as a research or grant preparation working meeting with colleagues and senior faculty. The ORW originated over 10 years ago as part of the Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Program and continues to be open to the University community.

This year's workshop series is organized by Hospital Medicine faculty member Gavin W. Hougham. Previous faculty organizers include Hospital Medicine faculty David Meltzer and General Internal Medicine faculty Elbert Huang and Caleb Alexander. The workshop series is sponsored by the University of Chicago CTSA, CHeSS, and the Departments of Family Medicine, Medicine, Pediatrics and Surgery. To schedule a presentation, please contact Coleman Evans at cevans@bsd.uchicago.edu or 773-702-3726.

Unless otherwise indicated, all ORW sessions will be held on Wednesday mornings from 8:30-9:45am in Room H300 (also known as W300; access is easiest from the A West elevator to the 3rd floor, then due west to the end of the W corridor). Refreshments are usually available.
